Mr. William Canonizado was born in the Philippines with Japanese/Filipino and Spanish decent. While growing up in Manila, he took an interest in mastering the art of Tae Kwon Do and obtained his Black Belt at age 16. He later trained with Philippine Tae Kwon Do Association in Manila and traveled to Korea and competed in a South East Asian competition.
Mr. William moved to the United States at the age of 18. He then went to college and obtained a Pre-Med degree in New York. Due to personal family reasons, he was unable to finish med school; however, finished his Nursing Degree. Mr. William is currently a licensed Critical Care RN with extensive experience in Nutrition and Physical Training.
Mr. William decided to open up his Martial Arts school when his son, Marc, started competing nationally. He wanted Marc to have a place where he can train and teach other martial artists who want to excel, especially in competition.
Mr. William has trained some of the well-known National and World Champion Martial Artists in the United States. To name a few, he has trained: Marc Canonizado, Sammy Vasques, Tiffany Larsen, Steven So and World Champions Haley Glass and Chase Chavez. Perhaps you, or your children, are next on the list!
Mr. Justin – Head Instructor
Mr. Justin Ortiz has over 18 years of experience in Martial Arts and over 15 years of experience in competition. He holds a 4th degree black belt in Shotokan and a 2nd degree in Goju-Ryu. By 2007 he was a national champion in both forms and fighting. In 2008 he first became a WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organization) world champion in both point fighting and kickboxing, representing the USA team in the WAKO world games in Naples, Italy. At the age of 15, Mr. Justin was a part of a national team called MASMAL, he was fighting adults and winning at a young age. By the time he turned 18, he was picked up by an international, fully sponsored fighting team called Full Circle. Currently he is a 2X WAKO, 3X NASKA (North American Sport Karate Association), WKA (World Karate Association), and ISKA world champion. He is currently a member of the world renowned and karate’s best, Team Paul Mitchell, fully sponsored by the great company, John Paul Mitchell hair care system. For many Years he has been traveling the world fighting, winning, teaching privates, and conducting seminars, but most importantly, broadening his skills in the martial arts. Ever since Mr. Justin has made it his goal to teach kids to open their minds, be humble, and to always be a student. “For those who understand perfection is an unlimited goal, will always achieve greater heights.”
Mr. Carlos – Instructor
Mr. Carlos Forestier has 20 years of experience in Martial Arts. He became Florida State Champion in forms and fighting in 1996; by 1997, he won the Florida State Triple Crown Championship by winning in weapon, forms and fighting.
In 2002, Mr. Carlos began teaching young Martial Art students. His goal is to open their minds through creatively using music to enhance their technical skills and provide direction on using proper technique.
Ms. Cindy – Instructor
Ms. Cindy Tang has the distinction of being the first to start as a student in 2006, at the age of 8 years old, and earned her Taekwondo black belt under the Florida Sports Martial Arts Academy system. Her natural talent as a martial artist shows not only in competition but also when she teaches students of all levels. Growing under the influence of Mr. Marc and constant guidance of Mr. William, Cindy has not only earned her black belt but has also blossomed into an influential instructor. In return, she enjoys mentoring new students and sharing her experiences as they earn their belts.
During the competing years since 2008 and still continuing, she has achieved many grand champions and is also recognized as Florida’s State Champion in Traditional Forms and Weapons. Today, she is still training daily and working hard to improve her skills. Not only is she dedicated in her teaching and training, but as well as her education in school.
