Q: “Will martial arts, karate, tae kwon do teach my child to be hostile and aggressive?”
Absolutely not. Children learn a lot about what it means to be respectful and polite here. As a result, kids who weren't violent in the first place become even more respectful and kind. Kids with behavior problems often become very respectful and calm.
Q: “Do kids get injured in martial arts, karate, tae kwon do?”
Sometimes. But the truth is, injuries are very, very rare here. We have a lot of measures in place to keep your child perfectly safe. In fact, safety is our #1 concern.
Q: “My child isn't athletic. Can he/she still participate in martial arts, karate, tae kwon do if he/she?”
Absolutely. Martial arts teaches kids to be coordinated, flexible and strong. Kids who don't naturally have these qualities develop them. Kids who do have these qualities grow them even more.
Q: “Do kids enjoy martial arts, karate, tae kwon do? Do they stick with it for a while?”
Kids have a blast here. There's smiling and laughter throughout every class. We have our moments of intense concentration and focus... but we always balance things out with fun and games to keep everything alive and light.
Absolutely. Kid with low self-esteem often come out of their shells. As their skill level increases, they feel more and more confident. Other kids look up to them, just as they look up to other kids who are ahead of them. It builds a sense of confidence, pride, and teamwork.
Q: “How old should my child be to start martial arts class?”
Any age! Most kids range from 5 to teenagers, but we have kids who are younger, too. Classes are customized to suit children of different ages. A teenager receives very different treatment than a 6 year old, for example.
Q: “Are martial arts classes for boys only? Can girls participate as well?”
Our martial arts classes have been, and always will be, for boys AND girls! Every class has a good blend of the two as well. In fact, girls often get the hang of it sooner than boys as they're naturally more flexible.
Q: “My question is not answered on this list and I can't find it on any of the other pages?”
